Little did we know that it was to be the very first step in a very long & drawn-out process.
However, the decision process was firstly to be agreed (in principal) by the Developers (who owned the land), followed by Gloucester, Stroud and Tewkesbury Councils, and also Natural England!
As you can imagine, getting the approval of all Agencies was no mean feat – but, eventually many, many months later our request(s) resulted in gaining the approval of all concerned.
Not that ‘that’s’ the end of it, it is actually far (very far) from it….
Anyway, after much initial expense, we are now here, almost three years later – hoping to finally complete during the Spring of 2023….
Watch This Space, we will further update when we have some positive news….
Yes! Finally, that is the longest period I have ever encountered with regard to a purchase! But, at least it is now over, almost done & dusted, seeing as everyone has been paid their share of the King’s Ransom – so to speak!
The only two things that are missing now are 1. The Access (Keys etc)
and 2. The Land Registry Title needs to be updated, (which according to the Legal Beagle) that could take (HM Land Registry) anything between months or even years to catch-up..?
At last, in September 2023 we finally received the keys to gain the required (Vehicular/Machinery/Livestock) access via the Security Posted Gate. And, we confirmed (agreed) terms with a Local Contractor, so – watch this space, hopefully we can get it into a more Managed state than what it had been previously. Please bear with us though, as it’s not as easy at it may all seem to be?

Would you believe it? We have today (1st February) received official notification from our Solicitors – confirming the Land Registry have sucessfully completed the Application.
All I can say is – it’s a good job we don’t all work with the same level of ‘enthusiasm’ as these so-called ‘professional’ outfits.
